How many times do I have to tell my clients to stop texting the people that matter to them?
I have a rule. If you work with me, you have to follow it.
Your significant other, children, and parents need to be at the BOTTOM of your texting list — in whatever form it takes.
AI is getting us to stop using our brains. Waze is making us lose our sense of direction. Texting has stolen our ability to feel.
You can never compare the way a person speaks to someone when looking in their eyes to when they're writing a text. Someone once said, "You text in your best voice, they read it in their worst."
I'm afraid the younger generation is already numb to this, avoiding connection and deep feelings by actually preferring to text rather than talk.
Please.
The only things that should be shared in chats or texts with family and loved ones are pictures and lists.
Otherwise, pick up the phone — or better yet, look straight into their eyes.
