The greatest gift we can give someone isn't resources or opportunities—it's our unwavering belief in their potential.
I've seen it countless times: Children rise or fall to meet the expectations we set.
A teacher who believes in a struggling student will see him achieving better than he ever has because he has someone who believes he can. A coach sees leadership potential in a quiet kid, and they become the team captain.
But this doesn't stop in childhood. Even as adults, we're shaped by the faith others place in us. The mentor who pushes you to apply for that promotion. The friend who insists you can start that business. The partner who knows you can overcome that challenge.
We talk about self-belief, but sometimes that belief needs to be borrowed first—reflected in someone else's eyes before we can see it in ourselves.
So today, I challenge you: Look at someone in your life—child or adult—and believe in them fiercely. Not just quietly, but actively. Tell them. Show them. Watch what happens when they borrow your confidence until they build their own.
And above all know that H'shem believes in you. He is your biggest fan and is just waiting for you to jump so he can catch you.
Mustering up enough strength to believe in ourselves is hard. When we see that belief reflected in someone else's eyes the sky is the limit.
