Rabbi Chaim ben Attar, author of the "Or HaChaim" Dvar Torah Parshat Balak

On the 15th of Tammuz falls the 282nd anniversary of the passing of our Rabbi Chaim ben Attar, author of the "Or HaChaim" commentary on the Torah. Please receive a little about his holy figure: 1. Rabbi Chaim ben Attar, known as the "Or HaChaim" after his Torah commentary, was born in Morocco and immigrated to Jerusalem. He passed away at age 47, less than a year after immigrating to Jerusalem, and is buried on the Mount of Olives. 2. The "Or HaChaim" earned the title "holy." In addition to him, the Alshich and the Shelah are also called by this title. The words of the Baal Shem Tov are well known, who said that the "Or HaChaim" is a spark from the soul of the Mashiach. 3. There are countless stories of miracles that occurred to Jews who prayed at his grave and committed to study his Torah commentary. One of the famous miracle stories concerns the Gaon Rabbi Hillel Schlesinger, who was childless for many years. One of the specialist doc...

True Peace: A Teaching from the Yanuka

True Peace: A Teaching from the Yanuka There has been considerable discussion worldwide about the onset of a time of peace, according to the Vilna Gaon. The Yanuka recently gave an incredible shiur on this topic. One idea particularly stood out. What Is Real Shalom? True peace isn't when one side wins and the other gives in. It's creating harmony between two parties while honoring both perspectives. How? There are three sides to every disagreement: his side, her side, and the Torah's side. The Torah serves as our source of truth. When our purpose becomes creating an environment where H'shem's name becomes great, that's the ultimate peace. The Real Issue In my practice, 99% of arguments between my clients aren't about the actual issue—they're about the feelings behind it. Hurt, feeling unappreciated, not feeling heard. This means that even if we "solve" the surface problem, we haven't created real Shalom if those deeper wounds rema...

When You're So Overwhelmed You Could Pass Out 💙

That feeling when everything is TOO MUCH and your body just wants to shut down? Your nervous system is trying to protect you. Here's what actually helps: 🫁 Box breathing: 4 in, hold 4, out 4, hold 4. This literally rewires your stress response in real time. ❄️ Cold reset: Cold water on your face or wrists hits your vagus nerve - it's like hitting Ctrl+Alt+Delete on overwhelm. 🌍 5-4-3-2-1 grounding: 5 things you see, 4 you hear, 3 you touch, 2 you smell, 1 you taste. Pulls you out of your head and into your body. 🛋️ Just sit down: Sometimes your body knows what it needs. Honor that. Why these work: When you're overwhelmed, your brain thinks you're in danger. These techniques tell your nervous system "we're safe" and shift you from fight-or-flight to rest-and-digest mode. Running from our problems or avoiding them doesn't make them disappear - they just grow bigger in the shadows. Build a solid support system around you. Listen to a moti...

Emotional Detox: The Kind That Really Matters

I just made a video about detoxing - but not the kind you're thinking of. Not dietary. Emotional. For years, I carried anger that would sneak up on me unintentionally at the worst moments, keeping me from being the person I knew I could be. The person I wanted to be. Here's what I learned: If you're not getting where you want to go in life, first ask yourself - is it your own behavior holding you back? Sometimes the biggest breakthrough comes when we: ✨ Let GO ✨ Let H'shem in ✨ Make room for the shefa we've been waiting for By letting go, you create space for H'shem to send you the abundance you have been waiting for. The channels are there - we just need to clear out what's blocking them. What are you ready to release today?
